How is gender stereotyping effecting our industry?
As an Ambassador for Women in Construction #WIC and Diversity in Construction #DIC, and as a Mental Health First Aider - #MHFA, I truly believe that if we are to attract women and people from diverse communities, or those with disabilities into Construction, Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths #STEM, as well as support those already in the industry struggling with prejudice, hidden and visible disabilities.
Diversity in Construction Ambassadors
SC4 are happy to announce, we will be sending two representatives, as Diversity in Construction Ambassadors, to the London Build Expo 2019. The session is free-to-attend for all and offers the chance for industry professionals to network and feel inspired. Learn from a panel of diversity champions discussing the the key issues and major developments within the UK's built environment.
North Stoneham Park Nominated for Inside Housing Award
North Stoneham Park has been nominated for Best Development (100+) and Best Affordable Housing Development in construction at the Inside Housing Awards 2019. The 1100 dwelling scheme, which is currently under construction, enjoys a rich landscape network that ties through to the historic woodland beyond. A variety of house types, apartments and tenures integrate to form a series of defined character areas.
Winter is Coming!!!
SC4 are continuing our Keeping Safe and Healthy in Construction campaign this month, with a focus on Working in Cold Weather.
Movember 2019
SC4's Decorator, Stephen Norton, is growing his Moustache for this year's Movember campaign. He hopes to raise awareness of Mental Health issues in Construction. UK Construction Week 2019
In October 2019, SC4 attended UK Construction Week in Birmingham. Katy (Director) and Rachael (Marketing) spent the day networking and attending seminars and talks.
