SC4 and Lovell host 30 carpentry students
It was a pleasure to collaborate with Lovell Partnerships Ltd in providing a site visit at Drummond Park, Ludgershall to carpentry students from Newbury College, Berkshire, UK and Wiltshire College & University Centre last week.
The 30 students discussed careers in construction and received a Health and Safety Talk from one of Lovell's Site Managers.
This was followed by a site tour of the Marketing Suite and Show Homes. Then two of Lovell's Assistant Site Managers presented 3 plots currently under construction, showcasing first fix carpentry in both timber frame and traditional masonry homes, as well as a property where the second fix carpentry had been completed.
Simon Mead, from SC4 Carpenters provided insights about his career journey and carpentry work on site, and Katy Hall answered questions on opportunities for apprenticeships within SC4.
