Delivering the Complete Carpentry Package Across a Major Residential Development
Project Overview
SC4 is delivering the complete Structural Carpentry, First Fix Carpentry and Second Fix Carpentry package at Herons Lake, a major new build residential development in Theale, Berkshire, for Ridgepoint Homes.
Commencing in October 2024 and scheduled for completion in 2028, Herons Lake represents SC4's first project with Ridgepoint Homes. Our involvement spans the complete carpentry package across 281 new homes, providing continuity from the structural stages through to first and second fix carpentry across both houses and apartment buildings.
Built on the site of a former quarry, Herons Lake is transforming the landscape into a thriving new community. SC4 is proud to play a key role in delivering this landmark residential development.
Our Role
SC4 is responsible for delivering:
- Structural Carpentry
- First Fix Carpentry
- Second Fix Carpentry
Delivering the complete carpentry package through one coordinated team enables us to maintain quality, improve programme efficiency and provide consistency throughout every phase of construction.
The structural carpentry package includes the installation of attic roof trusses exceeding 4.5 metres in height, demonstrating the scale and technical capability required across the development.

Herons Lake demonstrates SC4's capability to deliver a complete carpentry package across a large, multi-phase residential development.
By delivering Structural Carpentry, First Fix Carpentry and Second Fix Carpentry under one specialist contractor, we provide continuity throughout the construction programme, improve coordination between trades and maintain consistently high standards of workmanship from the first structural elements through to final completion.

Since commencing works in October 2024, SC4 has made significant progress across the development.
Completed
- Show home completed.
- Apartment Blocks 1, 2 and 3 completed.
- Structural carpentry completed to Blocks 8, 9, 10 and 11.
Current Works
- Structural carpentry and roof construction progressing on Blocks 6 and 7.
- Block 5 has entered the next phase, with roof truss installation underway.
- Block 4 is scheduled to commence as the next phase of the development progresses.

400+ New Homes at Drummond Park, Ludgershall, Andover
In Spring 2022, SC4 Carpenters Ltd started the commercial carpentry works for 400 new homes in Ludgershall, near Andover, Hampshire for Lovell Partnership Homes. SC4 was excited to work with Lovell again as they were our first ever client back in 2000 and their Newbury site, The Oaks, was one of those we revisited as part of our 21st Birthday celebrations!
242 New Homes at Selborne Road, Alton
In Winter 2022, SC4 Carpenters Ltd started the contract carpentry and internal and external decorating services on 196 homes for Phase 2 of this site in Alton, Hampshire. Reflecting the high standard of work and customer satisfaction offered by SC4 Carpenters Ltd, this followed on from the first phase of 46 new homes commenced in October 2020.
